Frequently Asked Questions

Web-based training courses may take up to 2 hours to be reflected in your STA from the time of completion. Classroom training sessions are generally recorded within two business days from when we receive the course roster. If you are concerned that you did not receive credit for training, please contact slac-training@slac.stanford.edu.

The training reports depend on personnel data from the SLAC Institutional Database (SID) to identify supervisors. All Supervisors having at least one direct report should show up in the supervisor list on the training reports. If you fall into this category but still can't find your name on this list, you may need to email records@slac.stanford.edu to verify that all your direct reports are properly identified as reporting to you.

The SLAC Training database receives personnel data from the SLAC Institutional Database (SID). Changes to SID are made by notifying records@slac.stanford.edu. The change, once entered, will be automatically reflected in the SLAC training reports.

A SLAC ID is required to take training, please refer to this page for more information about adding a vendor or contractor to the SLAC Institutional Database.

SLAC subcontractors require either Course 219 - Environmental Health & Safety Orientation or, if they are working on a construction project, Course 375 - Construction Safety Orientation. They will require a badge to gain access to their work area. The process for training and badging subcontractors is described here.

If you feel that you did not receive credit for a course, please submit a Training Support Form accessed from the menu above on this site.

The Restricted Thru date is a 90 day grace period for newly assigned training in the STA. The date listed is the day the training will become overdue if not completed. Work associated with the training may be considered "Restricted" if training is required before work authorization is given.

For more information on training term definitions, please see the Training Definitions page.

If a session is already full in the Training Registration Tool, or no sessions are scheduled in the future, you will be given the option of signing up for the course waitlist. You will be notified by email the next time a session is scheduled.

Use the Training Portal Password Request form in the Support menu above to request the web-based training login password.
